Almost Movie Time - READY? OK!

As you may recall, last summer I served as Production Designer of an Indy feature film. Well it is called READY? OK! and it is premiering at FILM OUT SAN DIEGO, Thursday april 17th. I can't wait to see it! A few early reviews have come in, too.

Beth Accomando, at KPBS radio, reviews FILMOUT SAN DIEGO and offers a great review of the movie toward the end of this several minute long sound file.

Welcome to Krizzlekroo.
I'm David and this is my blog.

Gay, 40-something, happily boyfriended for over 20 years.

I try to post semi-intelligent blogs where I couch my pessimistic nature with cheap references to sex and the occasional humorous comment. I also like to pepper my blogs with old movie and opera references. But don't be scared away by that-they're mostly subliminal.

I was born in Texas, grew up in Albuquerque, and I have lived for long periods of my life in Minneapolis, New Haven, and New York City. I've lived in San Diego since 1997.

I got my BFA from NYU and my MFA from the Yale School of Drama.

I love to cook, I own too many books;
and I have a passion for opera & musical theater and collect very old records, both 78s and cylinders.

In 2003 I produced a 2-CD set of old recordings from the 1903 Broadway Wizard of Oz Musical which earned me a Grammy Award nomination. I've been studying French for a little over a year.

I own and run a small publishing company called Hungry Tiger Press which publishes kid's books and CDs. My darling little company is a one-man operation so I am the lead graphic designer, copy writer, editor, typist, flunkie, and warehouse boy.

Before that I was in the theater. First as a Stage Manager and then for about ten years as a Scenic Designer. My design work has been seen mostly on the east coast. Though I did just finish work as Production Designer on my first feature film.
